My Modified Lens Experiment.

My 50mm lens broke. It was my back up 50 and didn't cost too much so I had an idea to take it apart and see how I could modify it to get some interesting images. I had it in half and put it back together with some tape and other random things and now it takes some very interesting images. I went out today and took some images on the streets, it has a mind of its own but is controllable (kind of).

I can't wait to shoot more with it, experiment and try some portraits. It is so much fun, much more fun than it was as a cheap 50. I have a Canon 50mm f1.4 which I use as my main 50 now anyways. Now I have a very artistic lens that can get very bizarre yet effective results to experiment with, Awesome!

Check out the images below, very dream like quality. The first one is my favourite out of the bunch.

Bizarro Portrait Series

The purpose of this series is to have fun with the subject and be as weirdly creative as we both can with the intention of creating a collection of bizarre portraits. Simple.

My only rule is that every image must be captured in camera with only colour adjustment in photoshop allowed, no editing to change face shapes or anything.

This is the images so far. I want to get lots of different people to take part in this over the next few months.

NEW WEBSITE

Hey there! I have a new website now up and running. Just finished building it and picking the images. Hopefully its running good. I need sleep now.

Have a look and let me know what you think. Be great to hear some feedback.

I was going for a much cleaner and simpler navigation and design compared to my last site.

The photography portfolio section will be getting regular updates as I have a lot of new shoots planned for the near future so watch that space.

Beautiful Decay

Decay can be one of the most beautiful things in the world. I love the organic nature as it takes over the once shiny and new places and things. It just takes over buildings and can make an abandoned building look full of character. The way that wood starts to rot, the way that metal starts to rust, the way that stone starts to crack can produce stunning images and events that could never be created by the human hand.

These are a couple of images I have taken that centre around the beauty of decay.
