Mark Lanegan

Saw Mark Lanegan play a solo acoustic show on Monday in Glasgow with Duke Garwood supporting.

Firstly i am a big fan of duke garwood so that was awesome to start things out, his dark acoustic death ballads as he called it were really cool. I look forward to seeing him again soon.

Then Mark Lanegan and Dave Rosser came on and opened up with 'When Your number Isn't up' which is one of my favourite of his songs, was such a cool and unexpected way to start the show. He then went on to play all the tracks that I could only have dreamed he would play. Wild flowers, Message To Mine, Little Willie John, hanging tree and many more which I can't recall right now. Great set list anyways.

That was like the 8th or 9th time i've seen him in one form or another and one of the best. Was cool just to see the stripped down songs, a vocal and one acoustic guitar and to see that the songs stood up just as well as when played with a full band.

If you get a chance to see the tour which is still on now, I highly recommend it.

This is just a little sketch i did on the train on the way to the gig. Was on a tiny sketchbook and the train wasn't exactly steady so its a little rough but it will always remind me of this gig and the weekend in general.
