Me and my epiphany tool

I uploaded this as it just recently came to my attention that all my best photography, design ideas and solutions to problems happen when I'm playing the guitar.

I have played guitar for about 6 years, not really taking it too seriously but learning things here and there and writing songs just to keep the creative part of my brain functioning.

Whenever i have been working on the computer, thinking about ideas or like i said above: trying to solve problems, my guitar has always been close at hand. And yesterday I just realised how important it is for me as a way of thinking. I pick it up and start strumming and my brain seems to relax and almost turn off from the problems with design e.t.c that I'm having. Then while totally engrossed in the chord pattern, riff or melody, the answer to the problem will just pop into my head. Not sure how this works, I think that maybe it stops my brain from worrying and over stressing and seems to subconsciously be working at things until it finds the right thing and then throws it my way. Its really weird and I can't believe it took me this long to realise that i actually did this, i've probably jinxed it now but i thought i would share this anyway.

Anyone else have any processes or things that help them think or work things out?

This is a shot that my girlfriend Cat took with my camera the other day when i was playing the guitar (not thinking about anything this time) which i decided to process and use for the image of this topic.
